Integrative Therapy

Synthesis Approach

Trained in Psychosynthesis, Gestalt Therapy, Massage Therapy, Cranial-Sacral Therapy, Move-Mobilization of Vital Energy Technique, and Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy, Grace Barr’s approach is grounded in psychotherapeutic and spiritual traditions and represents over thirty years of experience. This approach is a synthesis of mind/body therapies that enables people to resolve long-standing issues interfering with their ability to move to a new level of function. By gaining both the awareness and the ability to access unconscious influences, Grace’s clients experience practical means for behavioral and emotional change! This paves the way for living life more fully, effectively, and with conscious presence. Some of the techniques used in this process include:

Mindful Dialogue
Client-Generated Guided Imagery
Relaxation Therapy
Breath Work
Somato Emotional Release
Assisted Yoga Therapy
CranioSacral Therapy
Therapeutic Imagery
Polarity Therapy
Neuromuscular Massage
Trigger Point & Myofascial Release
Move-Mobilization of Vital Energy

These techniques allow restructuring of physical and emotional defense mechanisms that represent the manifestations of previous physical and emotional traumas. Within the process of restoring balance, Grace’s clients are empowered to create positive intentions to deepen their understanding of themselves and to manifest these intentions in everyday life.

Who Can Benefit From
Integrative Therapy?

Anyone facing a life challenge, such as an illness, loss of a loved one or having relationship difficulties, or those desiring more healthful living will find this work beneficial. At the same time, Integrative Therapy is helpful for people who have done extensive personal and spiritual growth work, yet are still finding difficulty moving through old patterns. In these cases, going deeper to find the cause behind these behaviors brings awareness and empowerment.
The work lies in not trying to transcend the day to day conflicts and struggles of life, but rather in learning how to view them as opportunities. Conflicts in life are doorways and initiations into the celebration of life.

Some thoughtful comments:

Grace is truly gifted in her ability to gain a deep understanding of what defines the uniqueness of each client, setting the stage for gentle but definitive restructuring of issues underlying their behavior and emotions. It is this level of awareness that paves the way for positive change.

Grace is a wonderful example of using challenging life experiences to evolve into the wise, compassionate person of today. She effectively creates safe territory for others to find their wisdom and life’s direction. It is no accident she was given the name of Grace at birth.
